Edward was released in April 2021. He had no place to live and came to the NEW Reentry Program looking for housing aid. His case manager helped him find a safe place to live and helped him start working towards a successful reentry.
He enrolled in OIC SOAR program which teaches new job skills. Edward worked hard to finish his training and received a Rise-Up certificate and Customer Service & Sales Certificate. He also completed the program and received a Certificate of Completion from the SOAR program.
Edward already has a job opportunity waiting for him once he receives his state ID, which will come in the next few days. He is excited to start working again. Once he starts his new job, he’ll start working towards his other goals: getting a car within six months and moving back home to Oregon to be closer to his family. He is already on his way to achieving his goals and we are proud of how hard he is working.
