Following his February 2021 release from incarceration, Lonnie was in desperate need of employment to help support his family.
The New Reentry Council helped Lonnie assess his skills and apply to jobs where he would be likely to succeed. The NEW Reentry staff also helped provide some of his basic needs, allowing Lonnie peace of mind to focus on finding work.
Determined to have a successful life, he enrolled in NEW Reentry job training program and received Customer Services and Sales Rise-Up certification. Lonnie’s new skills and credentials equipped him for better employment opportunities, which he pursued. He has since accepted a full-time position.
Lonnie is currently working on accomplishing other goals, including the reinstatement of his driver’s license, purchasing a vehicle, and rebuilding and strengthening relationships with his family.
