His Story: Willie Dowell admitted that he has encountered numerous roadblocks during his transition back into society. Finding a job was a difficult task but he was determined not to give up. According to Mr. Dowell, NEW Reentry Services helped him sharpen his job search skills, which ultimately helped him find a job. He believes that opportunities are always there, you just have to apply yourself. Mr. Dowell continues to thrive in his job.
Her Story: Mrs. Coe has a story to tell. She is an aspiring motivational speaker and currently works for Peacemakers Thrift Shop. In addition, Mrs. Coe has never stopped working towards her financial goals and recently accomplished her dream of becoming a homeowner. With a kind smile and a positive disposition her new outlook on life has given her an optimistic perspective that’s infectious.
Their Story: Mr. Dorsey Perry (Left) and Mr. Deonta Bridgers (Right) are responsible and hard-working men, which is evidenced by their work histories. Both men receive annual opportunities to return to work with their seasonal employers. Mr. Perry plans to start school at Wilson Technical Community College in the spring and Mr. Bridgers is optimistic about future opportunities for career advancements.
His Story: “I feel more confident about myself,” says Bobby Carroll. Mr. Carroll is well spoken, outgoing, and has the unique ability to always maintain a positive outlook on life. He is thriving at his job where he has worked for over a year. In fact, he has paved the way for others to have opportunities at his job as his managers consistently ask NEW Reentry staff to “please send more people like Mr. Carroll!”
Her Story: An ambitious woman, Ms. Barnes continues to achieve career advancements and grow professionally. She stated: “I am currently an intake specialist and soon will be an Executive Director for my nonprofit business, The Renaissance House, a place where un-served women can build their lives."
His Story: Mr. Cooper’s success comes as no surprise as he is a go-getter who shows initiative and a commitment to excellence. He says that his biggest inspiration to succeed comes from his children. He is the proud father of three, one son age 11 and two daughters ages 12 and 8.
Her Story: Ms. Pittman is a student at Grace College of Barbering where she is pursuing her passion of the art and craft of hair and finds satisfaction in serving customers. She has demonstrated her commitment to following her passion. A perfectionist at times, she sets high goals for herself and aims for 100% on all assignments and projects. Reentry staff is continually inspired by her hard work and excited for her continued success!
